Planetarium T shirts

I am addicted to Heat Transfer Vinyl and just looking for excuses to use it.  My daughter's class is going to the Planetarium and I am making a space themed t shirt for each of the 13 kids.  The Superman cart has great planets.  I used part of the globe off Locker Talk for Earth.  I used a variety of fonts and some of the titles were welded with my gypsy.  Thanks to the plastic transfer sheet, it's easy to line everything up and you don't really need to weld the words to make it easy.

For Pluto, I used the Mickey and Friends cart and just cut Pluto's name.
For Mercury, I saved the pieces of vinyl that were left over after I did Pluto and used them to accent Mercury.  The font is from Nifty Fifties and I think it is perfect for space themes.
Again, Earth came from the globe on Locker Talk-I figured it would use less vinyl than the one on Superman or Graphically Speaking.  I love that the E2 shows where everything will cut before it does, so I was able to place all my vinyl in just the right spot.  Not sure what font I used-I wanted something basic.
Saturn is my favorite.  This is the one my daughter wanted for herself, so it had to be "girly."  As soon as I saw the rainbow glitter vinyl on craftvinyl.com, I knew it would be perfect for the rings.  It's a little thicker than regular vinyl so you might have to play with your settings a little, but still easy to use.  And so sparkly!  The picture doesn't really do it justice.  The font is from Country Life-it welded beautifully.

Just remember to reverse cut HTV so that your words show up the right way.

DAB-Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother and the Wicked Steps

If any of you read my older posts, I went to Disney in Nov and made autograph books with my Cricut. I cannot stress enough how much all the hard work was worth it. The characters and cast members in Disney took a lot of extra time with my daughter and niece, admiring all the pages in the book. When we met Pluto, he actually got down on the floor and flipped through every page (I'm sure the people in line behind us hated it, my daughter and niece loved it). Other tourists stopped us and asked to look at the books and wanted to know where we got them. I used 8x8 CM albums and they ended up very thick and heavy but even my sister agreed that she would carry them around again.

So here are the pics of Cinderella and Company:

More DCWV paper, this time the shimmer stacks.  I used these a lot.  They cut beautifully and have a little sheen without so much bling like the glitter.  The white frills in the dress are glitter paper.  Everything is double or triple layered for some dimension.  Her background paper is from the EK success princess pack. Below is Cinderella and her prince.  His belt and epaulets are Bazzill Bling.  Their background paper is from a different EK success paper pad, this one a 12x12.  His signature box is another cut from Lacy Labels.  I used DS (didn't have a gypsy yet at the time) and welded two together to open like a backwards card so he could sign on top, then I could flip it open and put a picture inside.

Not too happy with how I drew on the eyes, but they'll have to do.  I added a little pearl for her earring.
Here's the Fairy Godmother.  We saw her but the kids didn't want to wait on line and I figured I would be a bad mom if I forced them just so I could have the picture.  The FG is also made with DCWV shimmer paper
I used SCAL and files found at Mardenz' blog ( a big thank you to her for all the great, amazing files) to cut Druzilla, Anastasia and the Wicked Stepmother, Lady Tremaine.  I like SCAL but I find it hard to control pressure and speed of the blade and so it can be frustrating.  I wish PC would come out with more Disney carts.  I, of course, bought the Pixar and Disney Classics as soon as they came out!  But I need all the Disney villains!
Background paper for the sisters came from DCWV citrus stack.  They, being wicked stepsisters, did not get the bling treatment.  Anastasia must be a scrapbooker because she asked a lot of good questions about how I made the pages.
I think Lady Tremaine looks perfect, this was a great file.  The sisters and stepmother's dresses are all cut from SU paper.
Lady Tremaine was not finished before the trip and so she signed on plain white paper but I did put a DCWV paper from the Black Currant stack on the facing page.
As always, thanks for looking.

Mickey's Garden

I am done with school for the summer and trying to get caught up on all the scrapping I want to finish. My family album from 2006 is almost done-just Nov and Dec left. So I am only five years behind!  I want to do an album of my daughter's dance pictures and, of course, the two Disney albums from our two trips.  I got my Gypsy from Cricut Rewards on Friday and I love, love, love it.  It is so easy to use.  I saw a card someone made where she welded circles to a pumpkin for a Disney Halloween card and since I saw that, I have been planning this page.  Creating it with the Gypsy was simple.
The title words are welded with the gypsy.  I accidently threw away the dot above the 'i' so I substituted a tomato.
I put the tomatoes from Block Party on the cornstalk from Paper Doll Dress Up.  I used the gypsy to mount circles from George and Basic Shapes to the tomatoes and also to make the cornstalk taller without making it wider.  I cut two cornstalks and double-layered the leaves for depth and definition.
The fence came from Mickey and friends.  I can't find the cuttlebug woodgrain folder anywhere, not even ebay, but it's on my list to get.  Instead I used one of the Fiskars texture plates to get the wood look on the fence.  I mounted it with foam tape.
The pumpkin is from Create a Critter-I just skipped the smiley face.  I love how easy it is to search through all the pumpkin images on the gypsy so I could find just the right one.  I free-hand embossed the lines.  The leaves are from the Thanksgiving seasonal cart and I just cut off and rearranged most of the vining.  The walkway came in part from the Mickey and Friends cart but I ended up just using the stones and arranging them free hand, then cutting out the wavy strips.

Onesies

So there was a break in the rain today and I went outside to get my camera.  And the Fedex guy pulled in with my gypsy from Cricut Rewards!  Looks a litle intimidating, but I know I can get plenty of help and advice on the cricut messageboard and new blog.
So here are the onesies I made for a baby shower last weekend.  My sister's best friend is having her first baby.  Here are two generic onesies I made, suitable for anyone.  I cut "Diva" from Rock Princess.  The Got Milk? came from two carts, From my Kitchen and Graphically Speaking.  I love, love, love iron-on vinyl!!!  I didn't have any white to accent the milk bottle but I'm ordering some.  I used my new E2 to make the cuts and I tweaked the settings a bit because the preset kiss-cut was cutting through my plastic backing.  If you have an iron-on sheet like the teflon ones that some places sell with the vinyl or the ones from Joann's (silicone, 7.99, and I used a 40% off coupon) then you can iron them on even without the plastic but the plastic backing is great for transferring whole words.
It's hard to see in the picture, but I used iron-on rhinestones to accent the crown.
Next I did a copy of the soccer princess t shirt I had made for my daughter, since the dad-to-be is an avid soccer player.  I already had the design saved in Design Studio, I just made it smaller to fit the little onesie.  The letters in princess were tiny but cut easily and the design transferred beautifully stuck to the plastic backing.

This last one is my favorite.  The mom-to-be is a hair dresser and I wanted to highlight that.  I used the brush off Slumber Party and the hair dryer from Paisley-both carts I bought specifically for this project!  I have over a hundred and forty carts but I still find must-have images on lots of carts I don't have.  There are a lot of layers in this design and it would have been impossible (for me, anyway) to do with freezer paper.  The heat transfer vinyl went together so easily!!!  I am addicted.
This last onesie was a huge hit at the shower.  I love that my cricut allows me to personalize so completely-I'm not limited by the designs I can find in stores, I can make my own.

Cricut Blog

There's a new place for cricut inspiration-the cricut blog.  I can't scrap without my cricut anymore and I love having another place to go to for inspiration. Check it out!

I made some onesies for a baby shower and I wanted to post tonight, but my camera is in the car and it is pouring rain so in the morning, I'll show them off.

My Craft Area

I scrap on the kitchen table and it is a huge pain to put everything away every night so I often leave it on the table, which means we end up eating on my daughter's tiny table!  I have been trying to talk my husband into giving me the guest room, since we rarely have guests.  After I made him take this picture for the circle challenge, he said, "You have too much stuff.  Your crapbooking is taking over the house."  And no, that's not a typo!  So I reminded him I am waiting for the guest room and he said, "might as well."  So I am pretty hopeful.  It would be great to have more than a corner of the dining area.
You can't see my new E2 because it was on the kitchen table-with my daughter!
